The Controlled Goods Program is a domestic control program to prevent unauthorized transfer of defense goods in Canada. This course is designed to provide a solid understanding of the Controlled Goods Program. An ideal course for Designated Officials and Authorized Individuals, as well as a yearly refresher for all the members of your team.

This module will describe in general terms what exactly the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) is, who manages it and what are its goals. It will also introduce the student to the Designated Official (DO) and Authorized Individual (AI) as defined in the regulations, as well as their respective functions. The student will learn about their responsibilities, as well as his/her own.

In this module, the student will spend time recognizing the different types of controlled goods, whether tangible or intangible and understanding how some goods though military in nature, may not be controlled. There will also be an overview of what ITAR is and its meaning within the CGP.
